Description
The Air Conditioning Technology program is a sequence of courses
that prepares students for careers in the air conditioning industry.
A combination of classroom instruction and practical experience
is designed to familiarize the student with the skills required
for job acquisition, retention, and advancement.
The curriculum progresses from basic refrigeration theory and fundamentals
to gas heating systems and heat pumps. In addition, instruction
is provided in basic math, electricity, and human relations.
Program graduates receive an Air Conditioning Technology diploma
and have the qualifications of an air conditioning technician.
Program graduates receive a diploma.

Program Requirements
Applicants must meet general admissions requirements, and must also:
- Present official documentation of an earned high school diploma,
GED, or college degree. Applicants who do not possess a high school
diploma or GED must pass an Ability to Benefit Test.
- Present acceptable COMPASS/ASSET scores taken within the last
five years, or SAT, ACT or CPE scores taken within the last seven
years.
