Description
The CIS - Microcomputer Specialist diploma program, approximately
five quarters in length for the full-time student, focuses on computer
basics, application software, computer repair, operating systems,
and programming languages. Instruction includes lecture and hands-on
experience that prepare the student for the diverse opportunities
in the field of microcomputers. Specific software such as Microsoft
Office, Visual Basic, C, and Oracle are a few of the packages offered
in the program. Preparation for industry certifications such as
A+, Net+, and MOUS are offered as part of the program.
The student also receives instruction in business and academic
courses such as keyboarding, business English, business math, interpersonal
relations and professional development.
Program graduates receive a diploma.
Program Requirements
Applicants must meet general admissions requirements, and must also:
- Present official documentation of an acceptable accredited high
school diploma, GED, or acceptable college credit.
- Present acceptable COMPASS/ASSET scores taken within the last
five years, or SAT, ACT or CPE scores taken within the last seven
years.
