Description
This program provides educational opportunities to individuals that
will enable them to obtain the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary
to succeed in the field of welding and joining technology.
Program graduates are to be competent in the technical areas of
shielded metal arc welding in the flat, horizontal, vertical and
overhead positions; blueprint reading; gas metal arc welding, gas
tungsten arc welding; and oxyfuel cutting; and common joining processes.
The program combines classroom study, lab experiences and work on
live projects to produce graduates who are prepared for employment
as welding and joining technicians.
Program graduates receive a diploma.

Program Requirements
Applicants must meet general admissions requirements, and must also:
- Present official documentation of an earned high school diploma,
GED, or college degree. Applicants who do not possess a high school
diploma or GED must pass an Ability to Benefit Test.
- Present acceptable COMPASS/ASSET scores taken within the last
five years, or SAT, ACT or CPE scores taken within the last seven
years.
