| With the exception of a March 1 deadline
for the Dental Hygiene program, there is no formal deadline for
application to any other certificate, diploma, or degree program
at Valdosta Technical College.
Although there is no formal deadline, potential students are encouraged
to apply well in advance of the quarter in which they plan to enroll.
Due to waiting lists in some programs, particularly in the health
occupations fields, and to the fact that some programs only accept
students once or twice per year, the applicant may not be able to
start the program when he or she desires. Students on waiting lists
for programs are accepted in the order in which they are placed
on the list. Specified programs also require core completion and
have minimum GPA requirements. Core classes may be started any quarter.
Practical Nursing students will be considered through the Competitive
Admission Process for the nursing program based on regular admission,
completion of NET testing and results, document submission (two
personal references and autobiography), past academic performance
(including core completion) and available space in the nursing program.
Dental Hygiene students must apply on or before March 1 each year
for consideration for the yearly Fall Quarter starting date. Applicants
for the Dental Hygiene program are accepted on a selective admissions
basis. Dental Hygiene is a cooperative associative degree offered
by Valdosta State University and Valdosta Technical College. Factors
for acceptance into the program include admission to Valdosta State
University into the Dental Hygiene program, regular admission to
Valdosta Technical College, academic history, grades of courses
under the core curriculum, previous dental office experience, and
a personal interview.
