POSITION
Public Relations & Information Director

DUTIES
Under broad supervision of the President or upper management, develops strategic communications and marketing plans for the technical college and/or its Foundation. Manages the production of publications and information. Assists departmental management with special projects and activities. Responds to routine and more complex inquiries from students and the general public. Directs media relations efforts and manages press conferences. Prepares budget requests. Prepares the technical college's annual report on accomplishments. May research and develop grant applications. May supervise subordinate employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An undergraduate major in journalism, communications, English, advertising, public relations or a related field at an accredited college or university and four years experience in marketing and/or public relations. Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills. Microcomputer experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS           
A master's degree and a background in print journalism, TV, and radio preferred. Post-secondary employment experience is a plus.

SALARY/BENEFITS
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.  This position is full-time and includes State of GA benefits package.

POSITION
Work Ready Program Job Profiler

DUTIES
Under general supervision, will provide specialized job profiling (job analysis) for the Work Ready Program for businesses in the College’s service area (Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Echols, Lanier, and Lowndes counties).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet the ACT requirements for a Job Profiler.  Graduate level coursework in job analysis and the legal issues associated with using assessments in the hiring process OR experience doing job analysis including experience communicating with people who perform a particular job to determine tasks involved, writing tasks from the information collected and/or writing job descriptions.  Knowledge of the Uniform Guidelines pertaining to the hiring process, including use of assessments in the process. Experience leading and facilitating groups. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word. Ability to work independently. Ability to recognize and respect confidential nature of data and conversation. Proficient in accurate and timely data entry. Willingness and ability to be flexible and to adapt to change.  Skilled in working in an organized manner with ability to prioritize, and to meet deadlines. Ability to interact positively with the public and office staff. Operate as part of and in a team environment.

POSITION
Auto Collision Repair Instructor

DUTIES
Under direct supervision of the Auto Collision Repair program coordinator, will provide classroom & lab instruction to Auto Collision Repair students.  Present instruction, evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives while preparing them for careers in the Auto Collision Repair Industry.   Assists in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts; ensures safety and security requirements are met. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An Associate’s  degree in Auto Collision Repair or related field and ASE Master certification in Collision Repair. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.  Must have at least three years related work experience in the past five years.      

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS           
A Bachelor’s degree in field and teaching experience at the postsecondary level and I-CAR certification is preferred.

POSITION
Patient Care Assisting Instructor (part-time)

DUTIES
Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans, develops program syllabi, goals and objectives for classroom instruction in an accredited health program.  Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives while preparing them for certification exams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited, post-secondary institution. Current LPN or RN license and current CPR certification required.   Minimum of three years experience in the past seven. Good verbal and organizational skills.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS           
Teaching experience at the postsecondary level is preferred.  Experience with Long Term Care a plus.

POSITION
College English and Learning Support English Instructor (Full-time)

DUTIES
To provide classroom instruction in English and Reading Learning Support courses, which are designed to prepare students to be successful when they enter their regular core and occupational classes; will provide evaluation of student progress in attaining goals and objectives as set forth by the college; prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports required for classes.  Areas of instruction include English and Reading.  Some evening work and committee assignments may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Masters Degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in English or a closely related field.   Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS        
Experience teaching at the postsecondary level is a plus.

POSITION
Surgical Technology Instructor (Part-time)

DUTIES
Under general supervision, will provide classroom & clinical instruction and supervision of Surgical Technology students in area healthcare facilities on day shift and in the skills lab.  Assist in presenting instruction, evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives while preparing them for certification as Surgical Technologists.   Assists in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts; ensures safety and security requirements are met.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology program.  Excellent oral and written communication skills required.  Must have at least three years related work experience in the past five years.  NBSTSA certification is required.    

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS        
Teaching experience at the postsecondary level is preferred.

POSITION
Dean of Allied Health

DUTIES
Under minimal supervision, coordinates and supervises quality Health Instruction programs at the College. Plans and organizes the unit's work to meet College objectives. Promotes the instructional program to public and private organizations. Reviews and approves all requests for supplies and materials. Prepares the instructional program specifications and budget. Represents the department at various internal and external meetings. Supervises subordinate employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A master's degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university in a vocational field or occupational supporting discipline such as English, psychology, business administration, educational leadership, or a closely related field.  Must have at least three years of full-time paid work experience within the past seven years in business, industry, education or military environments.  Three years of employment must have been as a full-time instructor at a Post-Secondary Institution.  Demonstrated skills in training and/or personnel development . Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills.  Must possess and maintain the appropriate professional credentials required for or related to the field or position. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS        
Experience in curriculum development, instructional methodology, planning, evaluation, budgeting, supervision and management.  Doctorate degree and experience in an Allied Health field is preferred.

Experience teaching at the postsecondary level is a plus.  Hands-on experience in field is desirable.  Expertise in video production, editing, lighting, optimizing video for the Web, pod-casting and I-Journalism desired.

Proficiency in Windows Networking, computer installation & maintenance, TCP/IP and network security.  Hands-on experience in field.  Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a closely related field from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.   Excellent written and oral communication skills required. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS        
Experience teaching at the postsecondary level is a plus.  Industry certification(s) are desirable.  Ability to cross over into the following areas:  programming, Oracle, Web site design, Web development, 2D and 3D graphics software applications (3D Studio Max, Illustrator, Flash, Bryce, Maya, Poser and Photoshop), video editing, video production, and forensics graphics software.

POSITIONS
Part-time Custodians & Groundskeepers

HOURS
Hours may vary up to 29/wk.

DUTIES
Custodian – Maintains proper care of a technical college facilities. Performs a variety of routine custodial & minor maintenance duties. May distribute and maintain materials, tools and equipment.

Groundskeeper – Assists in maintaining college grounds in an attractive and orderly condition. Adjusts and services grounds equipment as required. Routine custodial duties may also be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to handle prolonged standing, bending, walking as well as the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. Training and/or experience in facility maintenance, or any other combination of training and experience which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of six months experience performing custodial or groundskeeper duties.

SALARY/BENEFITS
Salary is $6.50 per hour. These positions do not include benefits packages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must minimally hold credentials as required by the Commission on Colleges. For occupational fields, must have worked three years in-field within the past seven.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in secondary or post-secondary instruction is desirable.

SALARY/BENEFITS
Quarterly contracts will be awarded for 5 to 29 clock hours per week according to classes assigned. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Positions do not include benefits package.
